You're God's Girl!: A Devotional for Tweens by Wynter Pitts is I have to say, this is an outstanding devotional book that isn’t just something you read, but teaches young girls about the value of daily quiet time. This isn’t something you read and walk away from, but the author encourages you to grab a journal, get out your Bible, answer questions, and really work through the days reading. When my daughter gets all her stuff out and settles in, her quiet time looks amazingly like mine, but it’s not because she is imitating me, but because she’s doing it on her own. It brings tears to my eyes watching her spend time with Jesus, on her time, when she wants to, all on her own.This is an amazing devotional book for younger pre-teens. I love that it drives them to God’s Word, and that it does it in such an age appropriate way. Some older, more mature pre-teens, might find the tone a bit childish, but it was perfect for my 9-year-old girl, and I will definitely be ordering Wynter’s other devotional book when my daughter finishes this one. I purchased after reading the positive reviews on here, but was aware I might need to return it. I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived and I read through it. It’s easy to read and follow. I think my 10 year old will love it. You're God's Girl!: A Devotional for Tweens by Wynter Pitts is I've been using this book as a tool to lead a weekly after-school bible study with 6 third grade girls. We have loved it! The content is perfect for their age and we are always able to use the lesson to relate to real-life situations in their 9-year old world. It's also been a great way to introduce the concept of what it means to be a good girlfriend to one another. We talk about gossiping, keeping friends' confidentiality and how to support and encourage one another. Being a young girl is hard and this book is equipping us to teach them how to grow up knowing their worth in in God's love for them, not the world's. Thank you Wynter! It has encouraged some heartfelt conversations, and I love to see her learning more and more on her level of understanding.
